Courage was created by transplant recipient and artist Jack Hoyle and was loosely inspired by the biblical story of Daniel in the lions’ den. Before and after his heart and double-lung transplant, Jack faced medical challenges that required him to place enormous trust in the people caring for him. His faith also became a source of strength when the outcome was uncertain. The piece reflects what it means to face fear without surrendering to it and to continue forward even when the path ahead is unknown.
Originally painted in acrylic on illustration board, Courage is available as a museum-quality art print on thick matte paper.
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 189 g/m²
• Opacity: 94%
